Taylor R. Genovese is a doctoral student in the School for the Future of Innovation in Society at Arizona State University. His research interests lie within the social imaginaries of outer space and human futures. He is interested in utilizing historical and contemporary Earthly analogs—incorporating anthropological and political theories—to investigate and speculate on how humans might socially and culturally develop after leaving the Earth’s surface. Furthermore, he studies the cultural intersection between science, history, and the imagination of outer space—especially within the context of extra-planetary and outer space habitation—including the role that ethnography and speculative fiction could play within these visions of the future.
