I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology and a member of the Institute for Science and Technology Studies and Sensorium at York University.
My ethnographic research examines forms of life in the contemporary arts and sciences. My forthcoming book, Rendering Life Molecular, is an ethnography of an interdisciplinary group of scientists who make living substance come to matter at the molecular scale. This book explores the laboratory entanglements of the protein crystallographers and biological engineers who are reconfiguring the materialities and imaginaries of the stuff of life in the twenty-first century.
