Lindsey A. Freeman is an Assistant Professor in the Sociology & Anthropology Department at Simon Fraser University. She earned her PhD in Sociology and Historical Studies at the New School for Social Research. Freeman is the author of ‘Longing for the Bomb: Oak Ridge and Atomic Nostalgia’ (UNC Press) and editor of ‘The Bohemian South’ (UNC Press). She is currently at work on a manuscript, tentatively called ‘Atomic Childhood around 1980.’ In this work she is developing the ethnographic method of sociological poetry. Freeman is interested in the connections between social science methodologies and art practices, especially hybrid forms of art and social science, such as ethnographic surrealism and superrealism, fictocriticism, ethnofiction and other cyborg methods of writing culture.
