I am currently an assistant professor of media and communication studies at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. My research is a historical ethnography of media praxis in the British and American Empires after World War II, and I work at the intersections of communication history and the anthropology of science and technology studies.To date, I’ve experimented with both multimodal and activist ethnographic methods. I am also a founding member of the Fembot Collective, a collective of feminist media scholars that publishes the multi-modal, open access journal Ada: A Journal of Gender, New Media, and Technology.Email: bpeake@umbc.edu
