Across many choices, times, circumstances, fictive and actual institutions, and disciplinary borderlands, my themes seem to be: sense of place, social justice, playfulness, wit(s), and art-as-intervention, especially in urban environments. Currently she works in areas of social memory and social change writing, and teaches at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia on Memory and Anthropology, Visual Anthropology: Cultures and Images/ and Writing the World: How Writing Tames, Inscribes, and Creates worlds.
