About Lina Pinto-García

Lina Pinto-García is a Ph.D. candidate in Science & Technology Studies (STS) at York University (Toronto, Canada), interested in the ethnographic exploration of science, medicine, and the environment. Focusing on a vector-borne disease called leishmaniasis, her current research interrogates the intersections between war, biomedicine, and public health, as well as the aspirational logics of peace in contemporary Colombia. In September 2019, Lina will be part of the Program on Science, Technology and Society at Harvard as a postdoctoral fellow.
