These are three pages from the introduction of my forthcoming book, Naptime at the OK Corral: A beginner’s guide to the ethnography of childhood. This book is a comic book format research methods text that will be published in 2016 from Left Coast Press/Routledge. It is the third in the “Shane” series, which are all graphic novels written for novice ethnographers. The first two volumes focus on ethnographic foundations and data collection, and qualitative data analysis, respectively (for more information please see Sally Campbell Galman Blog). The three panels I have inked and prepared for you are introductory pages of the book, where the main character is first beginning to explore what it means to study childhood, with help from her spirit guide, Billy the (Literal) Kid.
