Katherine Mackenzie is a dedicated comic book fan, runner, and current graduate student in anthropology. She is fascinated by how new media can have meaningful impact for activists and academics, in particular how graphic media can facilitate accountable and accessible dialogues on important social and political issues. In the graphic short, “Buy! Buy! Buy! Bi (?)”, Katherine uses an auto-ethnography to explore the relationship between queer identity politics, advertising, and mediated representation.
